My name is Michael Baumann and I am the founder of Bravo 4 Hero Fund.
I am a two time purple heart recipient and combat veteran who served as a sniper for the U.S. Army for 16 years. I have served abroad in both Iraqi and Afghanistan. I started a not for profit charity that is raising money to help support families of first responders who have given their lives in service to their country or community. The other services we will be providing are counseling and support groups for those families to help them through their loss.
First let me clarify first responder. A first responder can be a firefighter, ems, paramedic, ER nurse, police officer, dispatcher, ambulance driver, U.S. military service member, or national guard soldier who is on orders, just to name a few.
Our initial goal of $50,000 is ambitious, however, we can immediately begin to help families affected by the loss of a first responder. Initially as we begin to take traction our contribution to these families will primarily be therapy, grief counseling for the surviving families, and financial donations from our organization to help make up the loss of income from the fallen first responder. As we grow and with your support the ultimate goal would be to use our donation base and fundraisers to pay the mortgage of the first responders off completely to alleviate that financial burden to the family. This would help the family grieve without the overwhelming financial strain of trying to figure out how to supplement the income loss. It also helps the children of that first responder have one less thing to worry about knowing they won't have to move. The other end goal is to provide scholarships to the children of those fallen heroes.
I have a saying I fervently believe. "Those men and women do their jobs everyday knowing the risk. They just do it anyway. Those that gave all, we owe them everything."
So we ask that all give some... because they gave all.
